SCRIP ORDERS - Enroll Now! - Group Order Deadline August 26th

GoPlaySave Books Fundraiser
We are going to have GoPlaySave books available at the beginning of the football game on Friday, 8/26. So this will be another opportunity for you to pick-up books. You can also pick-up books and drop off checks during the following upcoming times: Monday, 8/22 - in the carpool circle from 3:45 to 4:15pm. Monday, 8/22 - in the carpool circle from 8:30 to 9pm. Thursday, 8/25 - in the carpool circle from 3:45 to 4:15pm. Thursday, 8/25 - in the carpool circle from 8:30 to 9pm. If you need to arrange another time, please email: goplaysavepcbb@gmail.com.

Still need your chaperone shirt? How about a t-shirt or tank? Want to order your student a band jacket? Spirit wear and Member Jacket orders are being accepted now through August 26th. Spirit wear orders placed by this date will be available in time for PCI. Jackets ordered by this date will be available in early October. *Jackets previously ordered will be delivered by the end of August. Click for the order form links.
SIGN-UP to VOLUNTEER for Panther Creek Invitational (PCI)
Sign-up to Volunteer for Panther Creek Invitational (PCI) Saturday, September 24, 2016 Thanks to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer for this year's Panther Creek Invitational (PCI)! While so many stopped and signed up to do their part, there are still 140 adult volunteer slots that need to be filled, so please look at your calendars and see where you can fill a spot! All volunteers get free entry to watch the bands perform before or after their shifts! Here is the link to the Adult Volunteer SignUpGenius for this event. Student sign-ups will be handled directly with students. PCI Sign-up Genius PCI is Panther Creek Band's largest fundraiser and the band counts on 100% family participation to make it a success. Each band student family is expected to fill at least one adult volunteer shift, so please sign up today. This is our chance to give the visiting bands an opportunity to experience a first class marching band competition, and we need your help to do so. Panther Creek Marching Band's performance is exhibition only, so this is not "must-see" marching for our parents. Instead, please consider one of the later evening shifts and staying to help with clean-up. Remember, students will not be dismissed until the campus is returned to its original condition. If parents stay to help, cleanup goes faster and everyone gets home earlier! If you need more information regarding the various volunteer positions, please contact the PCI Volunteer Coordinator, Janice Crawford or your 2016 PCI Committee Chair, Kyle Davis. Thanks.
UNIFORM WASHING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
If you are looking for a way to volunteer and help the band from your own home, then please consider signing up to clean the marching band uniforms. We will have a complete washing and care guide instruction sheet for you, and we usually hand out 10 uniforms per volunteer. If you are available and can help with this task please contact Debra Zahn. If you already signed up at the informance, please note that I have included your name on my master list of volunteers.
BIBBER PANTS
Bibber Pants need to be returned to your students garment bag NO LATER than Tuesday August 16th. 1st Uniform washing is scheduled for Wednesday August 17th.

Band Boosters Honor Dr. Hedrick
It is with our heartfelt sympathies to the Hedrick Family that we announce the Band Boosters will be making a donation in honor of Dr. James Hedrick, husband of Panther Creek Principal Dr. Camille Hedrick. The Boosters are still considering which of the Hedricks' favorite charities to support, but we did not want to delay in letting you know how you can participate. If you choose to make a contribution toward the Boosters' donation, please send your donations with the memo "for the benefit of honoring James Hedrick" to the Booster mailing address or place in the box in the Band Directors' office. We would like to thank all of the parents, students, and volunteers for a great band camp! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who served as chaperones--we really appreciate your help!! Special thanks to everyone who provided lunches and dinners for the staff. They were treated to excellent meals and it was much appreciated. Thank you to all of the parents who donated ice pops, gatorade, and the other needed supplies. There are a few tents, chairs, and fans remaining that we borrowed. Feel free to pick those up at any practice. Thanks again for supporting a great kick off to a fantastic marching season! Tina Inman and Jenny Cini
Pura Vida Bracelet Fundraiser!
This student-run fundraiser is selling bracelets from a company called Pura Vida Bracelets to raise money for the Panther Creek Band. These Panther Creek themed bracelets are waterproof, handmade, and durable. They will be sold everyday at lunch during band camp for only $5, while supplies last!

Payments will be accepted prior to and after the August 1st Parent Information Session and at the Informance Night on August 5th. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and Debit cards. Click for more info, including the payment charges.
Chaperones Needed for Evening Practices
Parents/Guardians: The signup for evening practice is now available. (Click for the link) These are the rehearsals that start after band-camp and continue into the fall semester. When possible, we've tried to break up the evening time slots into smaller hours. Thank you for volunteering your time!

If you have not registered with Wake County Schools, please register,. Indy is a multi-day trip and there will be a chaperone cost associated with the trip. Thank you for volunteering your time!
Interested in Joining the UNC Wellness Center in Cary?
As part of our Corporate Sponsorship Program, the UNC Wellness Center on O'Kelly Chapel Road has provided us (5) 3-month family memberships for new members. The standard cost for these memberships is $635 and for a short time, you can join for $325. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Elliot Zahn. First come, first served. Should we not have enough interest for new membership, we will be able to offer a special deal for families that already belong; stay tuned! All funds will go directly to the Panther Creek Band sustainability fund.
PCI Trophy Sponsorships
PCI is coming next month, and as the excitement begins it's time to decide on trophy sponsorships. Trophy sponsorships are a terrific way to honor Senior band students, show section pride, and support your band student this season! And, sponsorships are tax-deductible! Sponsorships will be opened to Senior families only today through August 14th. On August 15th trophy sponsorships will be open to the entire Panther Creek Band family, so watch for a link to the sign up in the eNews and on FB. Let the PCI countdown begin!
Spirit Wear
Spirit wear orders were distributed to students last week. If you ordered socks, they are being ordered through an alternate distributor, and we will let you know as soon as they're available. Getting Involved!
Wondering how you can get more involved in the band program? The band boosters need volunteers to fill vacancies in the following areas. All of these positions can be held by an individual or preferably a two-person team. Please consider leading one of these committees.

Don't let time get away from you. Make sure you complete the online registration process, then print and sign the documents, and mail them to the mailing address below.
